A Photo Study: In Steps!

I’ve been trying to improve at using Procreate for digital art the past several months. Here’s what my workflow looks like at the moment!

I do a sketch layer first. I’m an absurdly messy sketcher, but I’m picky with myself. This sketch took me a little over an hour.

Couch time! Since it’s so much darker than the figure, I just want to get it out of the way.

Next, I shade the figure— and her little pitcher-thing.

Finally, I add highlights to the form (tops of hands, shiniest part of pitcher, eyes, etc.) and make the background more distinct.
